During an appearance on Good Morning America ahead of the grand opening, Yearwood, 59, revealed the significance of the dessert, saying, “This was my mom’s recipe. It’s a sour cream pound cake with just a decorative frosting, and it’s a piece of history for us.” She added, “It brings my mom back into the kitchen, too,” honoring her mother Gwen, who passed away in 2011.

Brooks, 62, and Yearwood exchanged vows in December 2005 at their home outside Tulsa, Oklahoma, just six months after Brooks proposed in California. Reflecting on their special day, Brooks expressed his happiness, calling it “the perfect Christmas gift to each other.”

Dubbed as ‘G&T’s Wedding Cake’ on the menu, the dessert is a nostalgic reminder of their love story and family ties. Alongside Yearwood’s renowned chicken tenders and burgers, the bar also offers fried pickles and collard green stuffed wontons.

Brooks praised Yearwood’s culinary creations on his Inside Studio G podcast, highlighting the quality of her dishes and the warm atmosphere of the bar. Their commitment to each other was also evident when they celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary by exchanging flowers with identical heartfelt messages.

With their bar opening its doors, Brooks and Yearwood continue to share their love, both through their music and their culinary endeavors, creating a welcoming space for fans and patrons alike to enjoy good food and great company.
