Beyoncé and Jay-Z have received the most GRAMMY nominations

In 2021, Jay-Z set a record as the artist with the most GRAMMY nominations ever at the time with 83. This year, he adds five more to his total, bringing it to 88 and making history once again.

And it’s not just Jay-Z making waves in the GRAMMYs. His wife, Beyoncé, has been nominated for an impressive 79 GRAMMY awards and has now added nine more to that total in 2021, tying her husband’s record-breaking 88 nominations.

The couple’s success in the GRAMMYs is in no small part thanks to each other. They’ve been nominated together 17 times and have won five GRAMMYs together over the years, including two in 2021 for their work on Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE.

This year, the power couple has achieved a new level of success, making history with record-breaking 88 GRAMMY nominations each.

Beyoncé has received the most GRAMMY Awards of any woman in history

Before she was one of the two most nominated artists in GRAMMY history, Beyoncé was already the most nominated woman of all time. In 2021, her 28 GRAMMY Awards surpassed Alison Krauss’ previous record of 27 wins, making Beyoncé the woman with the most GRAMMY Awards to date. If Beyoncé wins at least four GRAMMYs in 2023, she will become the artist with the most GRAMMY wins in history – a record that would truly cement her place in music history.

Beyoncé’s nine nominations for the 2023 GRAMMYs are certainly nothing to sneeze at, but in 2009 she earned an incredible 10 nominations in a single year — a feat that remains unparalleled to this day. That astonishing achievement included nods for Record Of The Year for “Halo,” Album Of The Year for I Am… Sasha Fierce, and Song Of The Year for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”. Of those 10, Beyoncé was lucky enough to take home the award for Song Of The Year, as well as four other Grammys that night — making it one of her most successful years ever.

She has received the most Record Of The Year nominations

Beyoncé is setting yet another record: she has just received her eighth nomination for Record of the Year at the 2023 GRAMMYs with her smash hit single “Break My Soul”. This makes her the artist with the most nominations in the category of all time.

Her first ROTY nomination was with Destiny’s Child for “Say My Name” in 2000. Since then, she has been nominated for “Crazy in Love” with Jay-Z in 2004, “Irreplaceable” in 2008, “Halo” in 2010, and “Formation” in 2017. In 2021, Beyoncé was nominated for two ROTY awards for “Black Parade” from The Lion King: The Gift and “Savage”, her collaboration with fellow Texan Megan Thee Stallion.
