Called upon in the top of the ninth inning against the Minnesota Twins with the Tigers holding a slim 1-0 lead, Jobe efficiently retired the side, securing the save with a groundout to short and two strikeouts.

Detailed pitch data compiled by MLB.com’s Sarah Langs revealed the impressive nature of Jobe’s performance. Of the 13 pitches he threw, seven were swung at, with five resulting in whiffs, showcasing the effectiveness of his pitches. Notably, Jobe unleashed three pitches that surpassed the 100 miles per hour mark, reaching a top speed of 101.8 mph, while averaging 100.2 mph with his fastball.

In addition to his blazing fastball, Jobe displayed a diverse repertoire, incorporating a cutter, sweeper, and changeup into his pitching arsenal.

Despite being reassigned to the Minor League camp, Jobe remains a standout prospect within the Detroit Tigers’ organization. Ranked as the No. 3 player and No. 1 pitcher in the team’s farm system by MLB Pipeline, he holds the distinction of being the 25th overall prospect in baseball and the third-highest-ranked pitcher in the Top 100.

Selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, Jobe signed with the Tigers for $6.9 million and made his professional debut in 2022. Throughout his minor league career spanning 37 appearances, all as a starter, Jobe has showcased impressive statistics, including a 3.38 ERA, 1.146 WHIP, and an average of 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings.

Although Jobe has primarily pitched at the High-A level, with only a brief Double-A outing in 2023, his standout performance in Spring Training suggests he may soon earn a call-up to the MLB level in 2024.
