Dua Lipa, renowned Grammy winner, has revealed the title and album artwork for her highly anticipated third studio album, titled “Radical Optimism.” Scheduled for release on May 3, the 11-track project embodies a newfound perspective.

“A few years ago, a friend introduced me to the term Radical Optimism. It resonated deeply with me, sparking my curiosity and weaving its way into my life,” Lipa, 28, shared in a statement. “It struck me—the notion of navigating through turmoil with grace and feeling resilient enough to endure any storm.”

The album promises to explore a range of musical genres, with Lipa hinting at elements of psychedelia, trip hop, and Britpop. She added, “Simultaneously, I delved into the musical history of psychedelia, trip hop, and Britpop. These genres have always exuded a confident sense of optimism to me, a sentiment that I carried into my recording sessions.”

“Radical Optimism” follows the success of two singles. “Houdini,” released in November 2023, infused electro-psychedelic sounds and soared to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its successor, the disco-pop track “Training Season,” dropped last month and climbed to No. 27 on the charts.

Lipa showcased both singles at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where her Barbie soundtrack hit “Dance the Night” earned nominations for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media.

In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Lipa disclosed that she filled a notebook purchased from CVS with 97 songs for “Radical Optimism.” Reflecting on her writing process, she remarked, “I began writing for this album in 2021 and simply wanted to jot down my ideas. So, I went to CVS and grabbed a random notebook. Had I known its significance, perhaps I would’ve opted for a fancier one.”

Host Jimmy Kimmel, 56, expressed surprise at her choice of notebook source, to which Lipa responded, “I adore CVS. It’s my obsession. There’s nothing quite like visiting CVS and indulging in unnecessary purchases.” She then proudly displayed the notebook, revealing, “It contains every song I’ve penned for this album—97 in total.”
