As outlined in a press release, the Centre for Higher Education in Fashion Design at the university will provide sustainability training to 250 Mango employees. The initiative aims to equip designers and buyers across all Mango clothing lines with knowledge in recycling processes, advancements in sustainable materials and fibers, certifications and labeling, and the incorporation of circularity criteria in collection design.

Mango views this training initiative as an integral part of its strategy to “attract and retain talent at Mango.” Leila Rettali, the Global Director of Talent and Organisational Development at Mango, emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting a value proposition that earned it recognition as one of the world’s best employers by Forbes in 2023.

Beyond employee development, Mango expresses its ambition to foster relationships and collaborations with institutions dedicated to enhancing education and knowledge generation. The company also outlines its intention to take a significant stride toward a more sustainable business model.

Madrid Polytechnic University, with a mission to “improve society by generating and transferring knowledge and training future professionals,” enters into agreements with institutions and companies across various sectors, including architecture, sports, fashion, and technology.
