In a major retail expansion, South Coast Plaza, the West Coast’s largest shopping center, is poised to welcome over 30 luxury brands throughout 2024. Renowned fashion houses such as Cartier, Gucci, and Lanvin are set to establish their presence in Costa Mesa, California, enhancing the center’s allure.
The initial phase of the year will witness the inauguration of stores by Casper, Lanvin, and Palm Angels. Gucci, aiming for grandeur, plans to unveil a 19,000-square-foot flagship store in spring 2024, situated adjacent to the recently opened two-story Balenciaga flagship—the largest of its kind in the Americas.
Among the high-profile brands set to make their debut this year are Alaia, Amiri, Armani/Caffè, Baccarat, Courrèges, Dior Men, Eileen Fisher, Jacques Marie Mage, Mejuri, Santa Maria Novella, Wolford, and Zegna. Lanvin and Jacques Marie Mage are scheduled to open their boutiques later in the year.
The announcement follows the recent establishment of debut retail locations by Maison Margiela, Marni, and Jil Sander at South Coast Plaza. A notable development is the simultaneous opening of adjacent stores by global fashion conglomerate OTB, showcasing three leading fashion brands—Maison Margiela, Marni, and Jil Sander.
Balmain, in late 2023, introduced its flagship boutique, expressing excitement to join the roster of luxury brands at South Coast Plaza. Giorgio Armani also inaugurated its newly designed store, featuring an adjacent Armani/Caffè with refreshed design, menu, and furnishings.
In addition to new entrants, existing brands like Chloé and Baccarat are revitalizing their boutiques, while Dior is expanding with a new men’s store beside its flagship boutique. Spring 2024 will witness the debut of expanded and meticulously designed boutiques by Cartier and BVLGARI in the Jewel Court, accompanied by the redesigned boutique of Harry Winston later in the year.
These developments solidify South Coast Plaza’s reputation as North America’s premier destination for luxury timepieces and jewelry, boasting an impressive aggregation of 35 luxury stores—all under one roof. The expansion follows the successful launch of flagship stores for Graff, Van Cleef & Arpels, and David Yurman in late 2023.
