Nintendo is experiencing a highly successful year with the recent success of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” which earned over $1 billion in revenue last month. Additionally, the company is eagerly anticipating the release of “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” which is set to be released this Friday.
According to Gene Park from The Washington Post, the game’s six-year delay was worth it.
“I think anyone who enjoyed the game ‘Breath of the Wild’ is going to absolutely love this one,” Park says.

In 2017, the highly praised game “Breath of the Wild” brought a new approach to open-world game design and contributed to the impressive sales figures of the Nintendo Switch. Its sequel, “Tears of the Kingdom,” builds upon its predecessor with more extensive and intricate features.
According to Park’s article for the Post, the new game is significantly larger than “Breath,” with numerous islands, caves, and dungeons scattered throughout the sky and an expansive underground area located beneath the land of Hyrule.
The major enhancement in “Tears of the Kingdom” centers on the way it acknowledges innovative gameplay by the players. The main character, Link, possesses fresh skills that enable him to reverse time, control items and construct intricate devices.
“If you need a car to get across the world, you can just build yourself a car,” Park says. “There were many times where I needed to get across an endless pit, so I built myself a little roller coaster to go across.”
Although train tracks have appeared before in the series, “Tears of the Kingdom” provides the means to build advanced innovations like rockets, airships, and even robots that breathe fire – impressive feats of technology in the otherwise imaginary world of Hyrule.
The plot of “Breath of the Wild” has been enhanced in the sequel, which includes more storylines and side quests. While the original game had minimal dialogue and cutscenes, allowing the vast world to speak for itself, the sequel has a more significant emphasis on narrative.
According to Park, there is a mission in which Link takes on the role of a journalist and there is a complete news organization within the game. As a part of the task, the objective is to locate Princess Zelda.
Although Zelda is not present in “Tears of the Kingdom,” Nintendo’s aspirations are certainly not lacking.
“I think it’s safe to say that Nintendo is slowly approaching a Disney level in terms of being a multimedia company,” Park said.
Despite the fact that it may be prosperous in terms of revenue and its amusement parks, the release of “Tears of the Kingdom” affirms that the organization possesses the proficiency to produce games that engage players and maintain their interest in the world of Hyrule.
