Paradox Poetry

The first theme, “Paradox Poetry,” taps into the prevalent sense of fear in today’s polarized society. Using the example of the British exhibition “The Horror Show,” Agelink illustrates how horror-themed ideas over the past 50 years have contributed to creative rebellion. This theme translates into fashion through long silhouettes with a futuristic flair and surrealistic elements. Denim takes center stage with an upcycled attitude, featuring oversized pants and combinations of different jeans. Large prints and volumes, as seen in Jil Sander’s catwalk, contribute to the futuristic and surreal look of “Paradox Poetry.”

Clutter x Curiosity

Moving away from anxieties, “Clutter x Curiosity” embraces a cheerful and colorful outlook. Termed “Rainbow healing” by Agelink, this trend revolves around rainbow colors, graphics, fun, and fantasy. Craftsmanship gains prominence, particularly in the revival of knits, as seen in JW Anderson’s recent collection. The trend emphasizes giving new meaning to possessions, departing from the minimalist trend of the past. In the fashion realm, this translates to using ‘clutter’ to create beautiful and personalized items, as showcased by Dior’s SS24 men’s fashion show.

Cosmic Conscience

The final theme, “Cosmic Conscience,” delves into prehistoric times, leveraging artificial intelligence to simulate and draw inspiration from ancient lifestyles. This trend features larger knits, shoes, and a camouflage-like feel, with a dark color palette. Natural phenomena take center stage, with designers incorporating plants and animals into fashion items. Iris van Herpen, known for her futuristic creations, perfectly fits the aesthetic of “Cosmic Conscience.”

In summary, designers are providing a platform for handmade creations using new techniques inspired by history and the future. The appreciation for the earth is evident in the revaluation of garments, upcycling, and nature-inspired silhouettes crafted with the aid of artificial intelligence. Nature remains a significant influence in the creative process of designers for 2025.
